“I recently started volunteering at Project Wildlife Rescue and I can honestly say that this has and is one of the best experiences of my life, I am an animal lover and activist and by volunteering I get to deal with animals that have in some or other way been affected by circumstances beyond their control, watching an animal or bird come into the sanctury injured or abandoned and watching their recovery process is just the most rewarding feeling ever. I personally do not believe in human interaction with wild animals but obviously being a volunteer this cannot be avoided and I secretly must admit I love the interactions. I honestly can recommend the Ravia Volunteer project, it is an experience of a life time, you may be dirty, tired and physically exhausted at the end of the day but the feeling of acomplishment far outweighs it. The highlight for me so far is definitely being chaded by a porcupine while trying to clean his enclosure, feeding the baby vervet monkeys their bottles and playing with them and interacting with animals like Serval and Caracal that get seen very seldom when visiting Nationak Parks as they are nocturnal animals, and also the rescue of a Brown Snake Eagle that came into the Sanctury very weak and we did not think it would survive the night only to arrive at my next duty to find it standing and very alert. Volunteer today and help save an animal and make this planet a better and kinder place.”
