Welcome to Ravia

At RAVIA we offer a variety of ethical volunteering experiences. On all options, you will be accommodated on the project (farm), get actively involved with the care and maintenance of the animals and their living conditions, socialize with volunteers all over the world and have the opportunity to explore the project and surrounding tourism activities.

You can participate in our volunteer programs for one week or longer. You will stay in shared accommodation, *There is the possibility to have a private room at an additional cost. Ask for the possibility and we’ll let you know the options asap!

On a normal day, there are plenty of hands-on activities you will be involved in, and you will work closely with the project staff in completing several tasks on each project, including:

• Cleaning of the animal living conditions (poop-scooping, removal of old bones, removal of plants harmful to animals, etc), refilling water bowls and helping with general maintenance
• Preparing food and feeding the animals
• Assisting with maintenance and other group activities
• Helping the local community in the area
• Planning and helping with animal enrichment (treats, toys, building climbing structures, shades or hides, etc)
• Fence Patrol
• Fire fighting
• Research and monitoring ect.

In addition to the animal’s basic daily needs such as being fed, given fresh water, and having their enclosures cleaned, volunteers will be given specific projects to focus on. It is important to realize that not all the work will be easy or ‘romantic’. Many times you will need to roll-up your sleeves and get dirty.

Please note that little to no interaction are allowed with the animals. We work for the animals, not with them.
